There are more than 15,000 AM & FM radio stations within the United States. Only about 150 stations are Catholic. Is it any wonder that Pope John Paul II called upon United States Catholics to dramatically improve their use of modern forms of communication as tools of what he called The New Evangelization? With the religious freedom and material blessings we have in our country, we should feel an especially strong sense of urgency in establishing free and public Catholic radio programming. Catholics make up around 22% of the population in the Toledo area in Lucas and Wood counties. Roughly one out of four is Catholic, yet a Catholic Voice is not heard 24/7 on Toledo Radio. What a tremendous void there is. The sound of the silence is deafening. The Metropolitan Toledo area itself represents a major flock hungry for the truth as given to us through the teaching Magisterium of the Church. We think that 22% is ready for full-time Catholic radio. Annunciation Radio. Inline article positioning by Inline Module. |
